These powers are revised periodically, depending upon the organization's requirement and statutory / regulatory guidelines issued by Government / RBI from time to time.

The facility of Pledging of Post Office NSC certificate is available for Union Bank customers. Kindly intimate how much percentage of the face value (of 4 year old NSC which is about to mature within one year) is entitled to the Union Bank customers? Copy of Rules, Circulars, Notifications issued by RBI, Government of India or Union Bank of India Central Office in this regard in PDF format downloadable via RTI online portal may be ensured
The margin(minimum) for loan against NSC (of face value), as per extant guidelines is:
i) NSCs which have completed 3 years & above : 15%
ii) NSCs which have completed less than 3 years: 25%
The copy of Bank’s circular cannot be provided as it includes information related to commercial confidence and trade secrets which are related to commercial decisions while processing the loan application the disclosure of which would harm the competitive position of the Bank as per sec 8(1)(d) of RTI Act.

What is rate of interest of the above ?
The rate of interest for loan against NSC is as under:
MSMEs: EBLR+2.75% (present EBLR of the Bank is 6.80%) &
For others: MCLR + 2.65% (present 1 Yr MLCR of the Bank is 7.25%)
EBLR / MCLR of the Bank are subject to periodical revision.

Can a currency chest of Union Bank of India deny to accept soiled/multilated/two piece/three piece currency note ? If yes, kindly provide me with SOP
All branches of the banks are mandated to exchange soiled/ mutilated /defective notes to members of the public. Currency chest units being separate entities from branches, members of public cannot approach directly to avail the facility. However, currency chest may accept such notes from branches along with their remittance.

How to apply moratorium for EMI’s for Banks and NBFC’s.
Moratorium of EMI’s is applicable for various loan products according to their respective product categories. The products and their moratorium details are available on the Bank’s website- www.unionbankofindia.co.in
However, moratorium under COVID-19 relief package was announced by RBI, wherein 6 months moratorium was granted from March 1, 2020 to Aug 31, 2020. Accordingly, the moratorium was provided to all eligible borrower accounts which are Standard assets as on 01.03.2020.

Can an entity or an organisation, other than Govt. of India, verify if an Aadhaar number has been seeded to a bank account of any individual and communicate the same to any other entity or organisation: a. If yes, then: i. What is the procedure, kindly provide a copy. ii. Who all are permitted to seek this information from Organisation which can verify? iii. Who is the competent authority to permit verification of Aadhaar number seeding to bank account with purpose of sharing the same with an external entity? iv. Who is the competent authority to permit sharing of Aadhaar number seeding information? b. As per prudent banking practices, KYC details of customer obtained while opening the Bank account will be shared with Government agencies viz. CBI, ED, SIFO, IT Dept. Etc., when called for.
Data will be shared in response to specific request from the above agencies.

The upgrading of Internet Banking from View only to View & Transaction for customers not having debit card can be done at home branch by submitting physical written application as per prescribed format (enclosed herewith), Thereafter the Branch will forward the same to Admin at Central Office of the Bank for upgrading the transaction facility.

Inform software procurement policy of Bank.
We are providing the relevant extract of IT Procurement & e-tendering Policy of Bank 2022-23 in respect of softwares as under:
In case of software procurement, if required, Bank will assign the weightage to technical and commercial aspect say 70:30 i.e. 70% to technical aspect and 30% to commercial aspect. Detailed evaluation matrix will be formulated on case to case basis.
TYPE OF PROCUREMENT PROCESS: Bank may adopt following purchase method for procuring the hardware and software:-
GENERAL PROCUREMENT – Requirement will be consolidated and tender will be floated to obtain the best competitive rates.
RATE CONTRACT – For items of recurring nature, rate contract method may be adopted. The rate contract may be valid for a period of 6 or 12 or 24 months with a provision for review of rates at a regular period, say, quarter, half yearly etc.
EMPANELMENT OF VENDORS – More than one vendor will be empaneled for providing the desired items which are not on approved list of items and requirements are urgent. This empanelment would be valid for a particular period like 6 or 12 or 24 months with a provision for review of rates at a regular period, say quarterly, half yearly etc. However, for empaneling the vendor for particular purpose, open tender process be initiated. The prequalification criteria should be framed keeping in view the purpose of the empanelment. This should include the experience and past performance for last 2/3 years for similar works, capability w.r.t. personnel, equipment etc. and financial standing for last 2/3 years.
E-PROCUREMENT- DIT shall adopt full suite e-procurement by licensing software or outsourcing through a selection process. Bank will use e-Tender for procurement of Goods & Services in line with e-Tender clause.
Bank will use Reverse Auctions for commercial evaluation of RFPs in line with the reverse auction clause.

The Company has been granted a Certificate of Registration dated 8th January, 2000 by RBI to commence the business of non-banking financial institution to carry on any activities related to financial services except accepting Public Deposits. Further, the company is also registered with SEBI vide Regn.No.INZ000181932 for carrying out Stock Broking/Proprietary Trading activities and, as per the Securities Board of India (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 1992, there are no restrictions on carrying on any other business by the Company.
However, being the Member of the BSE/NSE Exchange as stock broker, the Company has sought their opinion on company’s other activities of Agency/Marketing services, which says that “As per the Rule 8(3)(f) of Securities Contract (Regulation) Rules, 1957 (SCRR), a Member can be involved as a broker or agent not involving any personal financial liability.”
Hence citing the above, the company has all the required approval in place to carry on present business activities as on date.

The primary business of the company is Institutional Broking and Proprietary Trading as regulated by SEBI. The other activities carried out by the Company is of providing Marketing/Agency services to the Parent Bank as follows:-
· Distribution/Sourcing of leads for Home/Vehicle Loans for Parent Bank.
· Distribution of Mutual Funds and E-Will Services.
