FASTag is a simple to use; reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll amount is deducted. The tag employs Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed on the vehicle`s windscreen after the tag account is active.
FASTag is a perfect solution for a hassle free trip on national highways. FASTag is presently operational at 650+ toll plazas across national highway. More toll plazas will be brought under the FASTag program in the future.The FASTag is going to be used at many state highways, airport parking and at Petrol Pumps also.
Union Bank FASTag program is part of National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) initiative rolled out by NPCI under the aegis of NHAI and IHMCL.
What is FASTag?
FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash transactions. The tag can be purchased from Tag issuers and if it is linked to the prepaid account, then you need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement.

How can I buy FASTag?
Customers can visit any of Union Bank of India (excluding erstwhile Andhra Bank and erstwhile Corporation Bank branches) branch to buy FasTag. erstwhile Andhra Bank and erstwhile Corporation Bank branches will also be covered soon.

What are the documents needed to apply for FASTag?
You need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document. Following documents are required for applying for a FASTag.

What are the charges for FASTag?
FASTag has a onetime Fee of ₹100/- inclusive of all taxes.
I have two vehicles; can I use one FASTag for two vehicles?
No, you need to take two separate FASTags for the two vehicles.
I have new vehicle fitted with RFID Tag. How to get it activated?
RFID tags fitted by vehicle manufacturer cannot be used as replacement of FASTag. Only FASTags issued by Issuing bank can be used for purpose of electronic toll payment.
FASTags is affixed on the windshield by the vehicle manufacturer/dealer which is used for the toll payment.
Do I need to use any specific lane at the toll plaza for FASTag?
Yes, you will have to use the lanes demarcated for FASTag users. Only the marked lanes have the required RFID infrastructure installed to read your FASTag. In case you enter a cash-only lane, the FASTag will not be read and cash will need to be paid.
How would I know that the correct user fee has been deducted from my FASTag account?
You will receive an SMS alert in your registered phone number each time a balance is deducted from your FASTag account.
How would I report an incorrect deduction and how will I get back the same?
You can report an incorrect deduction by our Customer Care Helpline number written on the FASTag i.e. 18002586400. Bank will review your request and if found correct, will raise chargeback claim to respective acquiring bank. After getting chargeback amount the same will be credited in your account.
I have FASTag and also balance amount, but I could not go through ETC lane. How do I get my FASTag checked/ rectified to see whether it is active or not?
You can raise a request regarding the same by calling the Bank’s customer care.
Can I avail a monthly pass?
Monthly pass for a toll plaza will be issued at that particular toll plaza. If you are registered tag holder, you need to visit the toll plaza near your location and request for the particular pass scheme. You need to pay for the selected pass scheme by cash or card to the operator. Once the payment is approved, the operator will activate the affixed tag for the pass scheme.
Customer can also convert their existing Union Bank of India FASTAG into a monthly pass by visiting NHAI.org website and clicking on the FASTag Monthly Pass tab
Note: There is no need to purchase any other RFID tag to avail a monthly pass scheme at any toll plaza. The FASTag already purchased by you will be configured for the pass at the toll plaza.
How can I recharge my tag account?
You may recharge your FASTag account by making payment through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking. Or UPI

Payment Mode: Pay by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking
Login to the portal, click on reload>Enter the reload amount>Submit> Select Payment mode as Pay by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking > Click on Make payment > Click on the cards or Internet Banking as per requirement.

CVV > Authenticate with OTP
2. For Internet Banking options: Enter respective bank’s User ID, Password > Authenticate with OTP > Follow the steps
FasTag can aslo be recharged through BHIM UPI :
At the time of issuing the Fastag, the system create the User id for the user and the same gets informed through SMS.
The steps to top up the Fastag account through BHIM UPI are enumerated as under.
1. The customer can Log-in to any BHIM UPI application.
2. The customer should initiate for payment option.
3. The beneficiary VPA Id should be given as “netc.<vehicle number>@unionbank”. in case of the individual category whereas the VPA ID for corporate customer should be “netc.<master account number>@unionbank”
4. The VPA Id will get verified.
5. Customer can put the amount to recharge and then the transactions needs to get authenticated with UPI PIN.
6. The VPA Id can be maintained under beneficiary list for ease of making recharge.
How do I reset my FASTAG Password?
Open your FASTAG URL, and click on forgot password option. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and reset your new password.
Are there any other charges applicable like convenience fees etc.?
There may be additional charges associated with recharging the FASTag account through different channels.

What do I have to do if I have lost/ damaged my RFID Tag? What will happen to the account balance?
You cancall our customer care for replacement of the tag. The new tag issued to you will be linked to your old tag account and relevant balance amount will be transferred in the new tag.
Replacement fee of Rs. 100 will be deducted from your wallet balance.
How do I block my FASTag account, in case my vehicle is lost?
You can call our customer care and block your FASTag account.
Can FASTag be used for passage through toll plazas on the state highways?

I reside within 10 km of a particular toll plaza. Do I need to take FASTag to get the concessions available for local vehicles?
You can purchase a FASTag to avail the concessions. Once you purchase the FASTag, you will need to submit the required documents (proof of residence) at the Acquiring Bank POS location to validate your residence within 10km of a particular plaza. Once it is verified, you may avail the concession on the FASTag assigned to your vehicle.
What should I do if I have been debited multiple times for my toll transaction?
In case you have been debited multiple times for a toll transaction, please call our customer care and log a chargeback complaint against the said transaction. Our customer care will log the complaint. Please note that the TAT for such chargeback cases is 14 working days. You can check the status of your complaint by calling our customer care during this period
