Union Bank UPI Application
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).UPI facilitates P2P (Peer to Peer), P2M (Person to Merchant) and P2PM (for small merchants and unorganized retail sector) transactions.
Union Bank of India currently provides BHIM UPI facility to the customers of the bank through the container application VYOM which is a providing both mobile banking and UPI functionalities.
Availability
VYOM application is available for download from Google Play store and Apple App Store.
How to Register for BHIM UPI in VYOM application:
At the time of registration in VYOM application, the customer will be asked to select the services to be activated viz. Mobile Banking and UPI. Customer has to select either Mobile Banking or UPI or both based on the requirement.
When the customer clicks for the first time on BHIM UPI icon in the VYOM application, the app will display a message that “No Virtual Payment Address (VPA) is available to perform a transaction, do you want to create a UPI ID?”
Customer has to click on ‘Yes’ to create a new UPI ID. Customers should create a UPI ID of their choice containing a-z , A-Z ,0-9,.(dot),-(hyphen) based on availability with the UPI handles “@unionbankofindia” , “@uboi” , “@unionbank” through VYOM app and need to link Bank account(s) with UPI ID by selecting the bank from the list of Banks available on UPI. Maximum 3 UPI IDs can be created through UPI in VYOM Application.
Customers can perform the following financial and non-financial transactions using BHIM UPI in VYOM app.
Create/Manage UPI ID
UPI ID is a unique identifier which will be used to send or receive money without sharing Bank Account details.
Create UPI ID/Link account(s)/Set BHIM UPI PIN/Change UPI PIN can be done by clicking on Manage option available on the Home page of BHIM UPI.
Set BHIM UPI PIN
UPI PIN can be set by entering last 6 digits of Debit card and Expiry Month & Year followed by entering the OTP received on Registered Mobile Number and ATM PIN.
Change BHIM UPI PIN
UPI PIN can be changed by entering the current UPI PIN followed by the new UPI PIN.
Link Account to UPI ID
Savings/Current/Overdraft accounts of any bank that is live on UPI can be linked to UPI ID by selecting the Bank name from the list of available Banks. Once the Bank is selected, the list of accounts will be displayed for linking to UPI ID.
Request Balance
Request Balance option is available for the linked accounts under selected UPI ID on the Home screen of BHIM UPI. Customer need to enter the UPI PIN to fetch the available balance.
Pay
Customers can initiate a Pay/send transaction using any of the below options:
Customer can add the UPI IDs as payee by selecting Payee Type as ‘UPI ID’ in Add New Payee tab in “Manage Payee” option available in the “Transact” section on the Home Page of VYOM app. Once the UPI ID is added as Payee, the customer can select from the list of UPI IDs without entering the entire UPI ID every time.
Collect
In order to receive the funds from particular person, a collect request can be raised by specifying the UPI ID in ‘Collect From’ field. The UPI ID and the Linked account has to be selected from the list of created UPI IDs and linked accounts so that once the other person/party accepts the collect request, the amount specified in the collected request will be debited from the other person/party account and will be credited to the customer selected account.
Share QR
QR (Quick Response) code for the respective UPI IDs can be generated and shared through this option available on the Home screen under ‘Other Activities’.
View Transactions
Transactions option available under ‘Other Activities’ on the Home screen of BHIM UPI will list the transactions based on the selected UPI ID and transaction status.
Pending Collect Request
The Collect requests raised by other parties with our customer/ the collect requests raised by our customer with other parties will be listed under this option as ‘Pending with Me’ & ‘Pending with Payer’ respectively.
Customer can either Accept/Reject/Block the pending Collect requests raised by other parties.
Create/Modify/Revoke UPI Mandate
UPI Mandate option is available under ‘Other Activities’ on the Home screen of BHIM UPI.
Customer can create a New Mandate/Scan Mandate/see the list of Pending mandates under this option.
Once the Mandate is created, customers will have an option to Modify/Revoke mandate.
Set Personalized UPI Transaction Limit
Customers can set the personalized transaction limit by clicking on ‘Manage’ option available on Home screen of BHIM UPI followed by clicking on ‘Set Transfer Limit’. The maximum transaction limit that can be set per transaction is Rs.1,00,000/-(Rs.1 Lakh).

Union Bank of India is providing the BHIM UPI functionality through Vyom application which is a container application providing both Mobile Banking and UPI functionalities.

Vyom application is compatible with Android devices with version 5.1 or later and iOS devices with version 12.2 or later
4. I don’t want to register for mobile banking. Can I register for BHIM UPI alone in VYOM application?
Yes, Customers can register either for Mobile banking or BHIM UPI or both as per their choice.
5. What do I need to start using UPI Application?
Customer should select UPI at the time of registration in Vyom application for using BHIM UPI. The mobile number should be registered with the bank and linked to the account along with active debit card for using BHIM UPI.
6. What is UPI ID, is it mandatory to create?
Yes, In order to use BHIM UPI, UPI ID has to be created. UPI ID is a unique identifier which will be used to send or receive money without sharing Bank Account Details.
7. How many UPI IDs I can create in VYOM app?
Maximum of 3 UPI IDs can be created in Vyom application.
8. Can I link the same account to multiple UPI IDs?
Yes, you may link the same account to multiple UPI IDs.

Yes, you may create multiple UPI IDs for the same account. In Vyom application, there is a limit of 3 UPI IDs that can be created.
10. I have deleted the Virtual ID/VPA/UPI ID, Can I reuse it?
No, once the UPI ID is deleted the same cannot be reused.
11. Can I use VYOM UPI App outside India?
No, the UPI functionality is currently available only for India.
12. Can I link my NRE/NRO accounts for UPI transactions?
Yes, NRE/NRO accounts can be linked for UPI transactions.
13. Which type of accounts can be linked to my UPI ID?
As of now, Savings/Current/Overdraft accounts can be linked to UPI ID.
14. I have an account with XYZ bank, will Union bank UPI App work for me?
Yes, accounts of other banks can be linked to UPI ID created in Vyom app by selecting the respective bank.
15. Is it mandatory to have same mobile number registered with the bank?
Yes, the mobile number should be registered with the bank to use UPI facility.
16. My bank account is not listed upon selecting the bank name. What should I do?
Kindly make sure that your account is active and the mobile number is linked properly to the account.
17. What is an UPI PIN?
UPI PIN stands for Unified Payments Interface Personal Identification Number which must be provided to authorize any transaction through UPI (Except for UPI Lite transactions).

19. Is debit card mandatory for setting UPI PIN?
Customers can set the UPI PIN either using debit card or by using Aadhaar followed by OTP authentication. Currently the option of using Aadhaar for setting UPI PIN is available in NPCI BHIM /PhonePe app.
20. Can I SET the PIN for other bank account as well in VYOM application?
Yes, the UPI PIN for other bank accounts can also be set in Vyom application.
21. Do I need to SET PIN for all accounts linked with UPI app for doing transactions?
Yes, setting UPI PIN is mandatory for using UPI.
22. I forgot my UPI PIN. How to reset the UPI PIN?
Customers can reset the UPI PIN using the SET BHIM UPI PIN option in Manage UPI ID.
23. How to add beneficiary for UPI?
Customers registered for both Mobile Banking and UPI can add beneficiary under Payee Type “UPI ID” in Manage Payee option under Transact section available in mobile banking home screen.
24. Can I transfer without adding any beneficiary?
Yes, Customers can transfer funds without adding beneficiary by providing VPA or Mobile number &MMID or Account & IFSC details.
25. Is there any cooling period/transaction limit restriction for the newly registered customers in UPI?
Yes, customers registered for BHIM UPI can transfer maximum of Rs.5000/- for the first 24 hours.
26. What are the transactions that I can do using UPI?
Customers registered for BHIM UPI can perform P2P (Peer to Peer) transactions, merchant transactions (P2M & P2PM).
27. How to check Transaction status?
The status of the transactions can be checked under “Transactions” option available in the home screen of BHIM UPI in VYOM application.
28. Are there any transaction charges for using UPI?
Currently there are no charges levied for UPI transactions.
29. Is there any daily transaction limit for UPI transactions?
Yes, there is a limit of 20 daily transactions under P2P category. However, there is no limit of transactions under P2M category.
30. I want to increase my daily transaction limit in UPI. How can I do that?
The daily transaction limit was set by the bank and uniform across all the customers and cannot be increased/modified.
31. What is the maximum per transaction amount that can be transferred through UPI?
The maximum per transaction amount that can be transferred through UPI is Rs.1 lakh.
32. What is the maximum amount that I can transfer in a day using UPI?
The maximum amount that can be transferred in a 24 hour time period is Rs.1 lakh.
33. I have transferred amount using UPI. The funds are debited in my account and not credited to the beneficiary account. What might be the reason?
The transaction can be either in failed status or Timed out (Deemed Approved). The failed transaction amount will be reversed in T+1 days. The timed out transaction amount will be either credited to the beneficiary account (provided the account details entered are correct) or will be reversed to the remitter account.
34. In how many days the failed UPI transaction amount will be reversed to my account?
The failed UPI transaction amount will be reversed to the remitter account by T+1 days.
35. Whom to contact if the UPI failed transaction is not reversed to my account in T+1 days?
Customers may raise a complaint through Call center or alternatively he/she may raise a request in home branch for the reversal of failed UPI transaction amount.
36. I have transferred the amount to wrong account/VPA through UPI. How can I get the funds back?
Customers may contact the home branch and submit a request for reversal of the funds from the account. The reversal of the funds are subject to availability and consent of the beneficiary account holder.
37. How can I raise a collect request in BHIM UPI in VYOM?
Collect option is available in BHIM UPI through which customer can raise a collect request.
38. Where can I check the collect request raised by others and are pending with me in the UPI application?
Pending collect requests are listed under “Pending Request” which is available on home screen of BHIM UPI in VYOM application.
39. I want to share a QR of my account to other party for receiving funds. How can I do that?
Share QR option is available on the home screen of BHIM UPI in VYOM application.
40. How can I register my RuPay Credit card for UPI transactions?
RuPay Credit card customers can link their Union Bank credit cards for UPI transactions in BHIM/paytm app currently.
41. How can I activate my UPI LITE account?
At present, UPI LITE account can be enabled in BHIM/Paytm app.
42. How to deregister for UPI?
Customer should call customer care for deregistration alternatively he/she may submit request in home branch for deregistration.
43. How to block UPI transactions in my account?
Customers can call to 7036311000 from the mobile number registered with the bank for blocking UPI transactions. Alternatively, he/she may approach home branch for the same.
44. I am getting message as “Mobile Number is restricted “. How can I unrestrict my mobile number for UPI?
Kindly contact your home branch and submit a request to unrestrict the mobile number for UPI.
