"The Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) were established in 1975 under the provisions of the Ordinance promulgated on 26th September, 1975 and Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976 with a view to developing the rural economy by providing financial support for the purpose of development of agriculture, trade, commerce, industry and other productive activities in the rural areas, credit and other facilities, particularly to small and marginal farmers, agricultural labourers, artisans and small entrepreneurs, and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto

As on date Union Bank of India is having 1 sponsored RRB i.e. Kashi Gomti Samyut Gramin Bank with a network of 415 branches spread over 8 districts of eastern U.P

The deposits and advances of KGSGB as on 31.03.2015 stood at Rs.7641 crore and Rs.2162 crore respectively. Bank has registered a profit of Rs.38.34 cr. during the financial year 2014-15.

The percentage of priority sector advances and agriculture advances to total advances as on 31.03.2015 was 78.45% & 51.48% respectively.

All 415 Branches in KGSGB are on Core Banking (CBS) platform. In addition to that, KGSGB has implemented various technology products for its customers, which is as under:
