Union Bank of India secures 1st Rank in EASE reforms

Disability Positive Awards 2023” in the category “Best Organization for PWD Inclusion

Union Bank of India's work in the area of empowerment of persons with disabilities through various initiatives has been well recognized by the BW (BusinessWorld) People & Ask Insights – Disability Positive Awards, Bank has been conferred with the award for Best Organization for PWD Inclusion. Banks program on accessible banking for customers with disabilities through Union Access project has been creating an impact and resulting in service level differentiation in the industry. Bank has institutionalized inclusivity and accessibility for their staff members and has setup Inclusion Cell at the HR Department at Central office. The efforts by the bank to provide an equal opportunity to all staff members coupled with reasonable accommodation has been recognized through this award.

Bank has received the prestigious award for Innovation in HR Transformation for Union Prerna from BAI (the international Bank Administration Institute)

Union Bank of India fulfils its responsibility as a corporate citizen by supporting improvement in health facilities, providing infrastructure & tools for the education of students and continuous & sustainable skill development. Union Bank of India has been undertaking initiatives under its CSR program with the objective of uplifting underprivileged communities and making significant improvements in the living standards of the poor and marginalised. Union Bank of India has also been an equal opportunities employer. Not only it has given employment to hundreds of youths with disabilities, but it has also made significant efforts to provide necessary training and reasonable accommodation at the workplace. Persons with disabilities and the visually impaired in particular have immensely benefited from CSR projects undertaken by the Union Bank of India. Union Bank of India has supported numerous NGOs working for the blind across the country. Union Bank of India path-breaking initiatives like Talking ATMs, Banking Accessibility through Union Access project and Financial Inclusion programs have not only directly benefitted the bank's customers with disabilities but motivated other banks to start similar programs keeping in view the needs of persons with disabilities.
