WHAT ARE PAYROLL CARDS?

A Payroll Card is a stored-value card offered by some companies to their employees as an alternative to payroll checks or direct deposit. Payroll cards are similar to debit cards and can be used to make purchases or withdraw cash at ATMs.
Payroll card or disbursement card is generally used by the corporate customers/large firms to give to their employees who go on tour for payment of incentives to staff, wages to workers etc.
Payroll cards are expected to be issued to the customers in bulk quantity. For this purpose, an upload file will be provided to branches to create value for all the cards issued. If your children or parents are living far away from you and you want to send money to them every month for their personal use, you should look at Union Bank power pay card. It is a prepaid debit card that can be reloaded at your will and the card holder can use it for withdrawals and purchases across the country.

FLEXIBILITY: Recipient can use the card at a wide variety of locations accepting Visa Cards, including restaurants and entertainment venues. It can be used in stores, online, or over the phone.

HOW TO APPLY

In order to apply for the Payroll Card, contact the nearest branch with the documents to comply with KYC norms required as detailed below:

Address Proof.
Identity Proof - Union Bank account Number/ Passport/ PAN Card/ Driving License, Identity Card, Letter from any recognized public/Govt. authority.
Contact Mobile Number.

CHARGES AND FEES

Payroll card can be obtained for a period of one year and can be renewed for two more years..
Each Card is issued at a price of Rs. 100/- each for Mastercard/Visa and Rs 50.00 for Rupay Payroll Card/Prepaid Card.
Redemption or renewal after Expiry Period - Rs. 100/- towards handling charges
Annual/Renewal charges at a price of Rs 50.00 are levied per annum for subsequent years.

1.	What are prepaid payroll cards?
	Visa prepaid payroll cards are stored value cards that can be purchased and can be used in India anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. These cards can be reloaded.
2.	What can the prepaid payroll cards be used for?
	Prepaid payroll cards can be used for purchasing gifts, merchandize and can also be used for disbursing corporate incentives, travel spending and budgeting etc. The cards can be used at ATMs for cash withdrawals.
3.	Can I use a prepaid payroll card at more than one merchant?
	Absolutely. As long as there are funds remaining on your prepaid payroll card, your card may be used at any merchant that accepts Visa debit cards.
4.	What happens if I spend all the funds on my prepaid payroll card?
	Your prepaid payroll card will no longer be accepted as a valid form of payment. At this time, you will be required to reload the card.
5.	What happens if I lose my prepaid payroll card?
	Call or inform Union Bank of India Branch from where it was purchased. If a card is lost, Customer Service will close the account and promptly issue a new card with the remaining balance of the lost card by charging the handling fee of Rs. 100/-.
6.	Who do I contact with questions about my prepaid payroll card?
	For prepaid card information, call on Union Bank of India Branches or visit the "Contact Us" on the prescribed website.
7.	How do I use my prepaid payroll card at restaurants?
	We encourage you to use your prepaid payroll cards at restaurants that accept Visa debit cards. But you should be aware of your card balance and should understand that, for authorization purposes only, we will automatically increase the amount of your bill by 20% to cover a possible gratuity. In addition, some restaurants have pre-programmed their own card terminals to authorize a gratuity (usually 15-20% of the food bill). Both additions are for authorization purposes and you will only be charged for the gratuity you designate on the receipt. But, the result of adding additional amounts may mean that the restaurant requests an amount larger than your balance and you may be declined.
8.	Can I use my prepaid payroll card at Petrol pumps / gas stations?
	Your Prepaid payroll Card can be used at Petrol pumps / gas stations. But you should be aware of your card balance and should understand that, for authorization purposes only, we will automatically increase the amount of your bill by 5% - 10% to cover a possible surcharge. The result of adding additional amounts may mean that the petrol pump transaction requests an amount larger than your balance and you may be declined.
9.	What if my purchase exceeds the value on my prepaid payroll card?
	To make a purchase that is more than the available balance on your card, you may use another payment method to share the expense of your purchase. This is called a split transaction. Simply use your prepaid card to pay for a portion of the purchase amount and a second payment method - check, cash, or credit card - for the remainder. Please note that split transactions are subject to individual merchant policies. When making your purchase, remember to tell the merchant the value on your prepaid card. The merchant will not be able to provide you this information. If you attempt to make a transaction for more than the balance on your prepaid card, the transaction will be declined.
10.	What should I do if my prepaid payroll card is declined?
	If you experience any problems using your payroll card, please contact Union Bank of India's Branch or clicking "Contact Us" on the prescribed website.
11.	How do I activate my prepaid payroll card?
	Your card is activated at the time of purchase.
12.	Can I purchase a prepaid payroll card online?
	Unfortunately, prepaid cards are only available to purchase at participating Bank branches.
13.	How can I check my available balance?
	Your available balance can be verified by clicking on "My Account" on the prescribed website. Be sure to have your 16-digit account number ready to access this information.
14.	Can I add more money to my card?
	Your prepaid payroll card is reloadable. Please visit one of our participating branches to reload the card.
15.	What happens if I have a remaining balance when my prepaid payroll card expires?
	You can go to the branch and redeem or renew the remaining balance, however a handling fee of Rs.100/- will be charged.
16.	How long can I use my card?
	Your prepaid payroll card expires as of the date embossed on the card.
